Welcome to Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club Inc.
About us
The Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club Inc is, as the name suggests, a bushwalking club based in the township of Toowoomba, 120 km west of Brisbane, set in the scenic Darling Downs region.
We organise a range of field outings and social activities and generally each month there are two day walks, an overnight camp and a social dinner. The difficulty of walks varies and caters for most skill levels.
Club meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (except December) at 7.30 pm at the St Anthony's hall at 3 Memory Street, Harristown. Visitors are welcome.
A club magazine, 'Footprint' is published monthly that outlines the month's activities and other club information. Each member is sent a copy of the newsletter either by post or email.
Most walks are graded and pre-walked by
the leader. Details of individual outings are
available both in the monthly newsletter and on our website.
Visitors
are welcome but MUST follow club guidelines
and by-laws.
The club follows minimum impact practices.
Membership
Membership is $40 per year, plus $12 insurance for each additional family member. Membership is from September to August so a pro-rata sliding scale applies, the treasurer can advise of amount at time of joining.
However, visitors can do up to three walks with the club before being required to join if they wish to do other walks with us.
For insurance and duty of care purposes, visitors will be requested to sign appropriate paperwork to ensure that they understand the risks involved with bushwalking before joining members on a club actvity.
Club History
Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club Inc was formed in 1974. Over the years there have been many great friendships formed as the club members have walked, swum, canoed, rafted, cycled, abseiled,
dined and camped at some of the most beautiful countryside within our remarkable region.
